Jana is a ball of energy eagerly awaiting her chance to make her mark on the world. She always asks her mother what sport she will play. She gives a few things a try, but nothing seems to fit—until she sees a female athlete gracefully flying through the air while making a powerful volleyball play.

 

Young Jana wants to become like the impressive athlete she saw, but practice proves difficult. Jana ends up with stinging muscles and bruises everywhere. She wants to give up, but her mom encourages her and tells Jana she just has more to learn.

With the help of her coach and her own determination, Jana begins mastering the perfect footwork and swing. It does take time—and a bit of embarrassment—but Jana will not give up on her dreams of being a volleyball star. A story of hard work, dedication, and hope.
