Find Your Pathway.
Build Your Game.

At Spiked City DC, we believe every athlete's journey is different. Our club pathways are designed to meet players where they are, provide the training and support they need to grow, and create opportunities to advance as they develop.

Every pathway is an opportunity to grow. Every athlete has room to progress.

SCDC Program Pathways

Whether an athlete is learning the fundamentals, preparing for competitive play, or ready to compete at a higher level, SCDC offers a pathway to help them build skills, confidence, and a lasting love for the game.

Placement within an SCDC pathway is not permanent. Our pathways are designed to support each athlete’s development and create opportunities to reach their full potential.

Developmental Program

The Developmental Program is designed for inexperienced athletes who want to build volleyball skills and gain confidence on the court. Athletes focus on mastering the fundamentals, learning the rules and flow of the game, and developing the discipline and teamwork needed to succeed in a club environment.

This pathway is ideal for athletes who are ready to grow their skills and experience the commitment of club volleyball in a structured, supportive training environment.

Practice Players

The Practice Player Program is for athletes who have developed a foundation in volleyball and are approaching competitive readiness but need additional time and training before joining a competing roster.

Practice players train alongside club athletes to strengthen their technical skills, improve game awareness, and build consistency in a team setting. As their abilities and understanding of the game progress, athletes may be considered for advancement to a competing roster when the coaching staff determines they are ready.

Practice players may also have the option to attend tournaments with the team, subject to tournament guidelines. A competing team uniform is not required for this pathway.

Regional Players

At this level, club teams are designed to develop intermediate-level players who have a working knowledge of volleyball and are ready to compete in organized tournaments.

Athletes should demonstrate fundamental skills, understand rotations and court positioning, and be able to execute core volleyball techniques in game situations.

Regional teams provide the opportunity to gain match experience, strengthen team chemistry, and continue developing in a competitive environment. Team formation and age-group availability depend on roster numbers and the ability to field a complete team.

Travel
Players

The Travel pathway is designed for experienced, advanced athletes who demonstrate a strong command of volleyball fundamentals, tactical awareness, and the ability to execute skills consistently under competitive pressure.

Players are expected to bring a high-level of commitment, coachability, and competitiveness to practices and tournaments. This pathway offers athletes the opportunity to challenge themselves against strong competition, refine advanced skills, and continue pursuing higher levels of play.
